Why does my breath smell when I'm nervous?
Stress is known to cause a dry mouth yet properly flowing saliva is needed to dislodge food particles from the mouth which may lead to breath odour after they are broken down by mouth bacteria. Many stressed people will abandon oral and other self-hygiene leading to body and breath odour.
What does stress do to the mouth?
Stress makes it harder for your body to fight off infections. Gum disease is an infection of your gums. It can cause loose teeth, bleeding gums, and bad breath. Stress can also contribute to gum disease if it causes you to grind your teeth, clench your jaw, or smoke cigarettes.
What is oral anxiety?
Anxiety, in particular, tends to be associated with several oral health issues. If you have anxiety, you're more susceptible to canker sores, dry mouth and teeth grinding (bruxism). As with depression, these issues may be attributed to a lack of oral care or as side effects of anxiety medication.
Can stress cause tongue problems?
Canker sores. Many people will develop these mouth ulcers on the tongue eventually. The cause is unknown, although they can be worse during periods of heightened stress.

Causes of bruxism that lead to aching teeth include crooked teeth, poor jaw alignment, and stress or anxiety. Clenching your jaw and grinding your teeth put additional stress on the muscles of the jaw, which can cause tooth pain.
How do you fix white tongue?
Use a soft toothbrush when brushing the teeth. Use a mild toothpaste (one that does not include sodium lauryl sulphate). Brush the tongue or use a tongue scraper to remove the white coating.
